Code!

We began learning about what a computer programmer is and what they

do.  The girls learned about Ada Lovelace and participated in the Hour of
Code.  This month, each girl will continue build skills  in Scratch Jr.  "Coding is the new literacy! With ScratchJr, young children (ages 5-7) can program their own interactive stories and games. In the process, they learn to solve problems, design projects, and express themselves creatively on the computer.(Scratch Jr. Website)  By the end of 2nd grade, students will be able to apply gaming design concepts, use the start on bump and tap blocks, use the send and receive message blocks, and much more!
