Art_Individual & Collaborative Paintings

We started off the year painting "something you do not know and cannot name". Then we arranged these paintings into a class array and connected them with a continuous line.  We talked about self expression and the times we make choices because we are members of a group. See if you can follow the line that connects all the students together. Ask your daughter which is hers! 

French: Savoir saluer, savoir se présenter

The girls did a fantastic job writing original skits in which they greeted each other, introduced themselves, asked their partners how they were doing, and said goodbye (using an expression other than au revoir!). As you will see in the pictures below, the skits were extremely creative and included singing, dancing, and characters such as George Washington, "Bob and Rob," Emma Thompson, Batman, and Hermione Granger.

Art: Sculpture Challenge

Third graders finished the year in art with a kinetic sculpture challenge. Girls used hand tools, wood, and other 3D media to create a structure that could move with air. Before building they brainstormed various ways air can move a structure. 

 

 

 

 

French: Dollhouse Books

Bonjour.  I hope that you have all had a chance to see the dollhouse books that your daughters brought home.  They did a fabulous job describing the rooms that their classmates made and I am so glad to be able to give them each a copy of the books we all worked so hard to make.  Here are some photos and a short video from the publisher party we had to celebrate the release of their books.  The middle school French students came down to see the dollhouses and hear the girls read their stories.

Tinker and Techxploration

This year's Tinker and Techxploration was a lot of fun for grades Kindergarten through 5th grade!  Students explored a variety of stations such as:  Leap Motion, Beam, Makey Makey, Alexa Dance Party, MakeUp Genious, SnapChat, Engineering the Tallest Tower, and more.  The girls even were able to look at and ask questions about Teslas!  A special thank your to all of the parent volunteers who made this day possible!
